Our client, a leading global real estate investment management firm, is seeking a Temporary Paralegal to assist its legal team with a short-term loan portfolio review project. This is a project-based temporary assignment totaling approximately 50 hours over a three-week period.
The primary focus of the role will be reviewing electronic loan files, identifying and extracting specific legal and financial data points, and accurately populating an Excel workbook covering the firm’s loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will have prior paralegal or similar legal experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently through a high volume of detailed documentation.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review electronic loan files and related legal documentation across the firm’s loan portfolio
- Identify and extract specific data points from loan documents, including loan modifications, prepayment penalties, and other relevant terms
- Accurately enter and organize extracted information into an existing Excel workbook
- Review documentation carefully to ensure data is complete and accurate
- Flag missing, unclear, or inconsistent information for review by the legal team
- Maintain organized electronic files and documentation throughout the project
- Handle confidential legal and financial information with discretion
- Work independently to complete the project within the designated timeframe
- Assist with additional related legal or data-review tasks as needed
- Prior paralegal experience or similar legal/document-review experience
- Experience reviewing loan documents, real estate finance documents, or other financial/legal agreements strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong reading comprehension with the ability to identify and interpret specific provisions within legal documents
- Highly organized and comfortable working through a large volume of electronic files
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Professional, reliable, and discreet
- Comfortable working on a defined, short-term project
- Short-term temporary assignment
- Approximately 50 total hours over three weeks
- Anticipated schedule of approximately 3 days per week, 5–6 hours per day
- Some flexibility in how the 50 hours are distributed across the three-week assignment
- $50/hour
