Service Captain, Corporate Hospitality in Hudson Yards

Out client, a prestigious financial firm is seeking a Service Captain to oversee hospitality and service operations in its newly established Hudson Yards office. This role will manage a team responsible for delivering high-end food and beverage service in a fast-paced, professional environment.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, proactive leader with strong hospitality experience, excellent communication skills, and a keen attention to detail. They should thrive in a dynamic setting, maintain composure under pressure, and demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee a service team to ensure seamless daily food and beverage operations.

  • Provide warm, professional greetings to guests and employees.

  • Step in as needed for barista service and other hospitality duties.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all dining and service areas.

  • Monitor and manage inventory for service-related supplies.

  • Support the culinary team with the setup and execution of family-style breakfast and lunch.

  • Develop and oversee the service schedule for both full-time and part-time staff.

  • Assist in planning and executing office-wide events.

  • Support meeting room setups and ensure service standards are met.

  • Coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance related to dining areas.

  • Communicate daily updates and ensure smooth team operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in a service captain or similar leadership role in hospitality.

  • Strong background in high-end service, with barista skills a plus.

  • Ability to remain composed, professional, and proactive under pressure.

  • Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong sense of urgency while maintaining poise and professionalism.

  • A team player with a “no task too big or small” mentality.

  • Comfortable working with individuals across all organizational levels.


    Schedule & Availability:

  • Full-time, in-office position (5 days per week)
  • Core hours: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with occasional evening shifts for events.
