Procurement (Vendor Management) Analyst at Midtown Quant Hedge Fund

Our client, a Quantitative Hedge Fund in Midtown is seeking a smart, savvy, engaging and hardworking Procurement (vendor management) Analyst to work in their gorgeous midtown office. The Procurement team oversees the firm’s software, technology, data, and service provider purchases, and manage risk and contribute to the company’s bottom line. This is a broadly visible team in the way that the firm manage supplier relationships, oversee contractual negotiations, and own purchasing processes. This position has firm-wide impact and provides an opportunity to interact with various internal stakeholders and external vendors. This person will own vendor engagement and work closely with technology and research teams to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective item procurement. The Procurement Analyst will be highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused, and will have a general interest in procurement and financial services. Members of their team are collaborative, flexible, and excellent multi-taskers. This role is in office 3x a week and WFH 2x a week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process purchase requests and ensure team negotiates the best combination of provider and price
Work with legal team to support administrative aspects of contract negotiations
Manage the review and renewal/cancellation of expiring contracts
Coordinate the delivery of purchased goods
Ensure incoming invoices are reconciled with purchase orders and delivered goods, working with vendors to reconcile any discrepancies
Ensure purchases are correctly accounted for and update systems when adjustments are required
Support asset management efforts and related inventory activities
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
Lead projects to improve company operations
Develop and manage relationships with strategic vendors in conjunction with colleagues
REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years of professional experience
Obsessive attention to detail, extremely meticulous, and highly organized
Strong customer focus and a drive to exceed expectations
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple responsibilities and ensure their timely completion
Motivated to work independently and take ownership to see projects through to completion
Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable liaising with vendors and highly technical internal clients
Experience working with Microsoft Excel and databases
Familiarity with technology products, services, and suppliers is helpful but not required
Experience with procurement and/or reviewing contracts is helpful but not required
SALARY: $100-150K base salary + 100% covered Health, Dental and Vision, 401K match, gym reimbursement up to $2K a year, cell phone reimbursement monthly, 4 weeks’ vacation, and more!
